One thing that did take a bit of work was getting BI4 and HS3 back in sync after a power failure. I have it setup so that both go to AWAY mode. These four modes have been integrated into HSTouch so that is the only place I need to go to control it or check status. Geofencing would be nice but I never got it to work as I wanted.
Interior cameras off.ĪRRIVING (profile 4) - Security off. SLEEPING (profile 3) - Same as AWAY except motion sensors in house don't trigger cameras. Motion sensors ignored for security but active for other motion based events. NO SECURITY (profile 2) - What others call HOME. In HS3, if any sensors trigger, I can tell BI to trigger cameras so I get snapshots/vidoes.ĪWAY (profile 1) - In BI, all cameras active and motion detection active. In HS3, I use the BI plugin.Īfter going back and forth, I decided to control BI almost exclusively by using profiles. On BI4, I use JSON to send an alert to HS3.
Blue iris code to change profiles how to#
Is this as simple as changing temp time to zero? If not, I suppose I'll have to have a recurring, conditions based trigger to reapply the profile until my conditions in HS are no longer met (something I'm already doing with my zwave thermostat which cannot have its eco mode triggered remotely).Īny other suggestions on how to use HS with BI? For example, if I set profile 1, instead of it reverting back after the number of minutes specified in temp time, I want it to persist until I change it to something else. Something I have not found in the documentation is a way to make the "temp time" in profiles to never revert. I'd like for BI to only capture and email images when motion is detected during away/vacation times (I have a separate 24/7 16TB NVR for regular recording). I'd like to use BI for 24/7 motion monitoring to HS, with HS reacting to motion based on occupancy conditions. Given this, I'm thinking I should turn the schedule off in BI and just add profile changes to my existing HS events. I currently have events setup based on time, overridden by Alexa/Echo or HSTouch interaction to manage home/away/holiday/vacation modes in the house (Still getting geofencing to be reliable, so that's out). I've got BI integrated with HSTouch, using BP2008's "better" web interface and it's incredible. I just started using BI a few days ago and installed the plugin yesterday. Uncheck this option and set your camera native settings to overlay date, time, and name as desired. For those of you using the BI plugin, do you use HS, BI or both to control profiles?
Only configure higher if you must leave the console window open and see events in real-time (like a security guard constantly reviewing live security feeds).īlue Iris | Camera Properties (per camera) Record Higher rates will cause significant CPU utilization. Thanks to minollo for his workaround to the encodeAsMD5() function. I ended up porting Tony Gutierrez (GitHub: pursual)'s Blue Iris Profile Integration app. I wanted to simply change Blue Iris profiles based on location mode (Home, Night, Away, etc).
